Abstract:

The total flavonoids content was extracted from Eupatorium Lindleyanum DC by three different methods: infusion, ultrasonic and reflux. Rutin was used as a control. The total flavonoids content of Eup atorium lindleyanum DC was determined by Al ( NO₃) ₃- NaNO₂ colorimetry. Under chosen experimental conditions, therewas a linear relationship between the concentration of Rutin solution and absorption spectrum in the range of 0.016 72~ 0.083 6 mg/ mL with correlation coefficient of 01999 9. The average recovery of this method was 98. 20%, and the relative standard deviation was 1.27%~ 1.63%. The analysis method developed was simple, fast and highly sensitive. With a better accuracy and precision, and suitable for the determination of the total flavonoids content of conventional Chinese medicine. The result shows that the total content of flavonoids in Eupatorium lindleyanum DC was about 2%. Among the three extraction methods, ultrasonic extraction was the highest in extraction efficiency.
