Abstract:
In th is pape r, w e present a syntactic pa ttern based m ethod for ex tracting sem antic re lations from a term ino logy d ic tionary. Focusing on syntac tic pa tterns, com b ined w ith NLP techn iques and the idea of statistics, th is m ethod, m aking full use of syntactic in fo rm ation in the d ic tionary text, ex tracts syntactic patterns includ ing sem an tic relations and app lies them to approx im ate ma tch ing w ith sentences from a d ictiona ry so as to ex tract semantic re la tions. Results from the experim ent show that this m ethod can be used effective ly in ob taining various sem an tic relation sam ples from a term ino logy d ictionary.
