Abstract:
According to the characteristics of fault current limiter(FCL),the FCL can be divided into three types:inductor type,resistor type and R-L type. The total transfer impedance and the generator power-output expressions are deduced after introducing FCL when short circuit faults occur on a transmission line in a single machine to infinite-busbar system,and simulation is made on the power-angle characteristics of a single unit infinite system with a fault current limiter. The results show that the fault current limiter can reduce the acceleration area of generator rotor when the system is in transient time domain as to improve the transient stability of the system.
