Abstract:
Arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is a key device in the DWDM op tical network and has the advantages of good filter capacity, steady performance and low crosstalk. The configuration and p rincip le ofAWG are described, and a scheme ofmultip lexing of fiber op tical FP sensors is p resented. The combination of tunable laser source ( TLS) and AWG makes time division multip lexing and wavelength division multip lexing possible. The number of sensors multip lexed in this system depends on the bandwidth of TLS, the number ofAWG channels and AWG free spectrum range ( FSR). Sensors are demodulated with the conventionalmethod of intensitywhich is of simp le configuration and easily carried out. There is little crosstalk between sensors.
